Michael is an Associate Director in EH&S department at Harvard University where he manages the Laboratory Safety and Industrial Hygiene programs on the Cambridge Campus. Before coming to Harvard, he was the Senior Industrial Hygienist at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. Michael was previously the Safety Director for a hazardous waste remediation, heavy demolition and asbestos removal firm. He has been involved in laboratory safety and its relation to new construction projects in teaching, research and health care related laboratories at several facilities. He has developed and contributed to numerous on-line training and laboratory safety training programs. He has presented at numerous conferences and workshops. He currently presents lectures at the Harvard University School of Public Health short courses on Guidelines for Laboratory Design and the Ergonomics and Human Factors: Strategic Solutions for Workplace Safety and Health course. Mr. Labosky maintains professional affiliations with the American Industrial Hygiene Association, the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, the Campus Safety and Environmental Management Association and the National Fire Protection Association. Michael is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Clarkson University and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
