Dr. Lawrence H. Keith

Dr. Keith is Vice President of Instant Reference Sources, Inc. He is also a past Vice President at the Waste Policy Institute where he currently works only on a part time basis. He also is past chairman and a current member of the Executive Committee of the American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of Environmental Chemistry and serves as the editor of the Division's newsletter, EnvirofACS. The picture on this page was reproduced from his feature article on environmental analyses in the ACS environmental journal (Environmental Science and Technology, Vol. 25, No. 4, pp 564 - 565, 1991) and it is the one that most people are familiar with from his articles in EnvirofACS. He continues to serve actively in the ACS through publications, committees, and helping to organize conferences and symposia.

Dr. Keith gained experience working safely with toxic chemicals while managing projects with the National Toxicology Program (NTP). A pioneer in the development of methods for environmental chemical analysis while at EPA, he has lectured widely in the USA and abroad on these topics. He has also published many books and technical articles on these subjects and, in addition, teaches courses on them. Recent publications have included electronic books in addition to traditional printed media.
